To the classroom that became my home…
As I nervously walked into what I now know as your loving embrace on my first day of sophomore year, I didn’t know your aura would impact my life so much. I didn’t realize that as my stressful, chaotic, and fun-filled year progressed, my affection for you would grow. You have seen laughter, tears, and most importantly love in the world you created out of endless amounts of reading, writing, and deadlines. There was not a moment in my life where I didn’t feel safe in the arms of your chairs.
I could always come to your safe haven, even on days when I felt everything was crashing upon me causing the air to escape my lungs. Between your aromatherapy and vacancy of fluorescent lights, I found myself beginning to breath again. Your space was one with positive affirmations and reassurance I am beyond grateful for.

I knew I could come to you when I filled with excitement and joy because you provided me a safe place to be myself. I could leap through your entrance and dance my heart away, radiating my love throughout the room, so you had just that much more to share with the rest of the students that were privileged enough to enjoy your companionship.
However, no matter what day I was having, you would always fill the cracks and crevices of the room with people who became some of the most important in my life. When deciding what classes to take next year, the people that you have pasted into your walls have helped me make some crucial decisions. You gave me support I didn’t know I needed through people that are able to look at my life with the perspective of a camera. I am thankful beyond words to have gotten to know the humans involved with Publications.
So, not only do I thank you for giving me a home away from home, but I also thank you for giving me a family. Even though some of my family is going off to start new adventures, I look forward to seeing who you bring into my life next year. Not only that, but I hope you become a home to them, as much as you have become one to me.
Sincerely,
Kaylee Schneider
